Wiper arms Posted by ELaw [Email] (#699) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ELaw) on Tue, 18 Nov 2014 12:59:28 In Reply to: Re: Parts availability?, Craig, Tue, 18 Nov 2014 11:41:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My wiper arms are rusting!
It's mostly a cosmetic thing, but the worst rust is in the area where the blades attach and it's making it hard to remove and replace the blades without breaking the plastic clips.
Sure I can sand them down and paint them (and it looks like that's what I'll end up doing), but that's not likely to last very long. If ones for my car were available for $40 each like for the earlier models, I'd just toss a couple of new ones on there.
The other thing I needed recently was a bulb socket assembly for the left taillight - one of the parts that holds one of the brake light bulbs is held in by plastic clips that broke off. The part doesn't seem to be available new, and I'd worry that a 15-year-old used part would have the same problem.
