I agree with SMP. Check the safety valve. Do a search on forum. It has been awhile but I think it should 30 ohms cold, don't remember hot value but it is in an older post.
Also check for broken vacuum lines.
I took my 93' Aero to the dealer, they replaced throttle body (to gold pin) Pedal pot, & safety value. I always ask for old parts, I figure I already own them, and can look at them afterward, and in this case I now have good spares. Checked them a couple of years later after much learning on saabnet and found only the safety valve was bad.
Also saab mechanics told me to put fish tank filter floss (or maybe something similar) in the open end of the rubber line coming off the red/white safety check valve to keep dirt from getting in. Have done to both my '93's - Aero & CSE.
