Bill, you are correct, the lines are not compatible. The Sanden has a dual line fitting which attaches with a single top fastener. The Seiko/OEM attaches with two fasteners per line for a total of four fasteners. I have the hoses for both styles as well as extra condensers, evaporators, expansion valves, etc. The plan was to take whichever compressor is deemed best, have the hoses for that style re-manufactured with larger hose barbs and better hose material by Cline Hose, add oil, new dryer, new O-rings, and re-install all for another, hopefully, seven?? years of cooling. If I could get a main shaft compressor seal all the better. In the past, that specific seal was only available for Seiko. The Cline Hose option has worked very well for me on the last four cars I have owned. It's about the same cost as new...possibly cheaper. With the exception of the two differing styles of hoses, the rest of the system has been, in my experience, compatible. I just do not have much experience (except bad) with Sanden but, I realize, it's limited to cars where the AC system was possibly compromised. The Sanden unit is cheaper across the retail counter but at the salvage U-pull the cost is the same: about $100 for a full system. As I already run a Seiko it just makes sense to have an extra system sitting around if I need it. Mostly, I see references on this board to the effect that Sanden is the "best" or the "way to go". I was just interested in what makes it "more" better. Thanks!
