stumpped on M vs A shaft carrier mount bracket Posted by inca99 [Email] (#1862) [Profile/Gallery] (more from inca99) on Sun, 26 Jun 2016 07:33:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Continuing my auto to manual swap saga...I'm at the point of exchanging the intermediate shaft carrier brackets, where the "M" replaces the "A" part. I removed from the automatic recipient car the bracket along with the alternator (as a unit, because the lower hex head alt. bolt stripped). Looking at the exchange part that will now be installed, it doesn't look like it will fit properly onto the 2.0 block as the mounting holes are different. Also, the alternator mount is intigrated into the automatic bracket, but the manual bracket doesn't seem to have a place to hold the alternator. So, I'm either not seeing this correctly, or the alt is mounted differently on a manual car. One other note is that the donor car is a 91 2.3, but I thought the blocks were basically the same, so those parts should transfer ok.
