Eeuroparts T5 to T7 BPC Valve upgrade - Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Wed, 1 May 2019 12:03:09 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Both of my 9000 CSEs have bad BPC valves with coils open. I - carefully - tested turbo output on both by disconnecting the "W" hose from the valve on each car. The '97 does not develop full boost so needs further attention.
The '95 though takes off like a bat out of h-e-double-hockey-sticks so aside from the BPC valve all is working there. Therefore I would like to proceed with the repair on that car. I'm looking at the Eeuroparts T7 BPC upgrade kit: https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/52650/T5-BPC-Update-Kit-T7-Valve-101K10078/
I called and verified that the $150 kit includes everything, including a modified ECU for the newer valve. (There is $125 core charge for the old ECU.) However the kit description states that "further programming by a certified professional" is required even though the necessary ECU modifications have been performed. On the phone they told me that a Tech2 is required to program the ECU to the car.
I have a Tech2 now but what kind of programming is necessary? I've switched out ECUs in the past for test purposes and never had to do anything special.
For now both vehicles are locked into base boost by connecting the "W" and "C" hoses together.
