Headlights Detent? Posted by urbanshocker [Email] (#2465) [Profile/Gallery] (more from urbanshocker) on Wed, 22 May 2019 17:58:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I heard my mechanic use the term "detent" for whatever controls the headlights going from daytime to high beams, but that seems to be what I'm having problems with. This is a 1998 CSE and on the daytime setting (switch at far left) the headlights are blinking from low to high. It seems to be fine if I set the switch to night beams (far right). But it's inconsistent when I pull the stalk back and will occasionally go to high beams but more often does nothing. And today when I started it in the far right switch position, the high beam icon was showing on the dash.
On top of that, the back lights for my cluster would go totally out, but I think I've fixed that by replacing the dimmer switch. I've replaced the Lamp Control relay and the red headlight relay. I've run out of ideas and am hoping for some help from the forum. Thanks all.
