That was about six years ago and it is still working well. I wound up using two 100-watt, 2.7 ohm power resistors in parallel, so the total resistance is a bit under 1-1/2 ohms. They are wired into the harness that was connected to the seatback heating pad. As I recall I strapped the resistors onto the seat frame using wire ties.
I found my Saabnet posting on it from back then. The Amazon link I had for a 1.5 ohm resistor in that post shows up (not surprisingly) as currently unavailable, but you should be able to source something similar from Amazon, ebay, or an electronics supplier like Mouser.

Actually come to think of it I believe I used the two resistors in parallel as a test and just installed a single 100-watt 1.5 ohm resistor for the final installation. I'd have to check under the seat to be sure though, it's been long enough that I'm hazy on the details.
