I had no idea that synthetic power steering fluid was used in these, I've been running on the conventional stuff since buying the car in 2011. No groaning unless I let the fluid get too low. (It has had a slow leak for years.) The PS fluid was flushed out accidentally not long ago when I forgot to put the reservoir cap back on - not a recommended procedure! Adding "AT-205 Reseal" has noticeably slowed the leak.
The radio problem sounds pretty strange. There doesn't seem to be anything obvious in the shift interlock circuit:

Maybe something to do with the shift lock relay, or a bad ground causing havoc?
