I'm finally in the market for another car. Will be buying a 2 to 3 year premium/semi premium brand. Purchased my 96 CS (upgraded to FPT) brand new with 6 miles on the odometer. It now has 140K & is still my daily driver; fingers crossed. I plan on keeping it. The parts paranoia is for real. I'm shocked at how fast things went downhill. I rather get rid my beloved 9000 before I purchase another ProParts part (they can't possible be Swedish). Hope I can find some new parts, like OEM slave cylinder etc when I visit Holland in a couple months. The Proparts 1 is leaking after less than 10K on it.
I'm about to replace the valve cover gasket. If it's anything like the oil pump housing o'ring, it should break apart in a thousand pieces. I was planning on retorquing the head bolts while there, but I'm extremely nervous about that task.
The AC needs help. Pin holes in hose/s, plus who knows what else, since I'd put some 'stop leak' in the system.
I have a crank positioning sensor to install. Got a Chinese knockoff 1 from eBay, been hesitant to install it.
Central lock works when it feels like it, passenger door lock stopped working.
Cruise control stopped working after clutch was replaced. I think the switches are out of adjustment.
Trunk release button not working. Think a wire was left off after the driver's side window regulator was replaced.
Other than that, the car runs better than the day it came off the lot, with the added hp.
