Just wanted to share a way to remove the OEM transmission mount (mine is 7551831 on a 1993 manual transmission, Google search shows it’s been superseded by 4165312). The bushing has a steel shell and is pressed in pretty tight, initially I couldn’t get it out because in my generic bushing tool set the 78mm cup was too big (the bushing itself is 78mm in diameter) and the 76mm was too small. I didn’t fancy cutting the shell from the inside, so I manufactured my own tool from a 3X2 inch coupler from the plumbing section at Home Depot, using a hacksaw and a bench grinder. The thing worked like a charm; don’t know if same method would work with transmission in the car (need enough clearance for a 90mm receiving cup) but the plastic tool survived and looks like it could be used again. Wonder what other people do to get the thing out, the saab9000.com write up of the job seems to have just omitted the details. Not planning on replacing with a poly bushing, just an original style rubber/metal mount. Installation looks straightforward. The transmission is a replacement for the one currently in the car that’s making noise.
