- Power steering on my 1995 started pissing fluid on the way back from our local Pho spot.
- I looked behind the engine and saw lots of fluid
- Jacked car up
- topped up fluid
- I removed the front passenger wheel
- I removed the inner fender liner
- I ran the car for 10 seconds or so
- I noted fluid dripping from the bottom hose (the power line from the PS Pump to the rack).
- I wiggled it and the line was not tight at the connector.
- I tightened up the connector with a 5/8th wrench
- still leaked
- Pulled pulled the pressure hose off and drained a quart or so of fluid
- the o ring was ripped Probably was already busted from being lose and wobbling around or me re-tightening it borked it up
- refit a new HNBR o-ring from a pack fro A/C I had handy. Hopefully it stands up to P/S as well as it does to most oils.
- I tightened it up
- Replaced the inner liner, topped up, replaced wheel.
- Car now no longer leaks.
