THe hitch is a simply no drill install right onto the bumper, if you crawl under the rear bumper and look up you will see a triangle of holes on the metal support frame. You also need to remove the rear towing eye hook and then bolt the back end of the hitch into the holes.
If the '89 is the same as the '93 in terms of towing then the tongue weight max is 200 lbs. The unbraked towing limit is 1000 lbs and the braked towing limit is 2000 lbs. It should be in your manual if you still have it.
The hitch new from anyone is expensive $225 from discount auto parts/ indie $380 from saab. However if you call around to auto salvage yards and check the classified here you may find a used one for about $100 or so. Your chasis type does matter CD hitches are different from CS hitches so be sure to ask
