If there is no clear coat on the car, which I dont think there is in 94, use a polishing compound. Over the years your car has accumulated lots of road grime and many layers of wax. Dont worry about a cutting compound. As long as you use a fine enough formula it will clean the surface. The paint job has six or seven coats. If you use a power buffer be carefull not to keep it in one spot for too long or you will go deep. Also be carefull at high points like the hood creases. Its easy to go deep at these spots. Get a system of polishing compounds that are all the same brand. 3M makes a great polishing system. Look for these products at an auto body store. Where I am from we have stores called ABS(auto body specialists), they will have what you need if they are around your area. Good luck.
