I had a fan controller go bad a few months ago on my 90 9000T w/ACC2. Finally figured out the problem (thanks to this BB and Quasi) and bought a new one for $180. Put that in over the weekend, ran great briefly.... then it started to "hunt" and finally quit all together, just like it was. Probably ran for 20 minutes total. Now what?? Could the fan itself be bad? It ran on high for a few weeks before stopping so that we had NO ventilation, but seemed OK with the new switch. And that looks like SO much fun to get at. It made a funny slow clattering noise for a while before it quit. Anyone had a similar experience? This really makes me mad. And then, can I simply get a transistor from Radio Shack and have it soldered in to replace the old one... I am NOT spending $180 again. Or is it that the transistor is not strong enough to handle the current?
Thanks for any ideas!
Jim
