Mine did exactly the same thing last week. I noticed a bit of oil under the car the day before. Turned out the oil pressure switch was the cause of the leak. It was literally bypassing the switch and leaking out the top. The switch is a bugger to get to and just as difficult to see. It is above the oil filter where the oil lines tie in. It's horizontal to the ground and is gold with a single prong connection. I removed the intake manifold to get to it which is easier than it sounds at first. It's a 30-50KPa switch or around 4-7psi. I found a switch in the Borg Warner catalogs but it was a special order. I ended up getting a Beck Arnley. No local Saab dealer around here. The thread size is a 14mm X 1.5mm and there is a crush washer on the switch.
To note: I had changed the oil the week before with Mobil 1 and had run one of those engine flushes in a can. Oil level was fine.
I hope this is your problem too. The other possabilities are quite a bit scarier.
