You didn't mention whether you had a manual or auto, but I wouldn't know if the tranny choice makes a difference.
As far back as I remember, I've noticed that the engine in my '95 9k CS 5-sp. has a tendency to "buzz" if the engine is idling slightly higher (1000-1100rpm) than the "normal" 850rpm. I usually see this higher idle the first time I start the car up in wintertime. After the car warms up, it idles at 850rpm again, and the "buzz" goes away. Maybe if you have an auto tranny that's putting a slightly higher resistance on your engine, causing the engine to idle slightly higher...
