They still make home audio receivers, amps, preamps, etc.. I see no reason to expect that the head unit is made by anyone other than Harman Kardon themselves. With all the mergers and buy-outs these days however, it's hard to tell which company is really the 'head' company. If memory serves, Harmon Kardon is now part of 'International Jensen', which as you can guess, makes Jensen. They also own Advent, Recoton, Citation, and Lexicon, and I believe many others, so Pyramid may well be in that bunch. But to say that Harmon Kardon is built BY Pyramid is a stretch, even if the parent company is the same. :) A buyout does not necessarily mean that the company which was bought, will do things any different than they have been all along.
Personally, I'm not too concerned with who makes it, so long as I feel the quality is good, and it meets my other needs.
cheers,
Aaron Gilbert
