Well, according to my added-on boost gauge, I'm actually getting almost that -- about 14/15psi at max boost, and this is on 87 octane. The next tank will be 93 or 94 so I can check it all out.
Yes, the APC is self-tweaked. I did R42 and R138, as well as adjusted the pots, so it should match the Saab Red Box at this point. Seems to go right up to the red line and then drop back a hair shortly thereafter -- probably the fuel keeping me from staying there too long.
I'm perfectly happy with this boost and performance at this point, but I was also planning on getting a 3.0 bar FPR. You mentioned gas mileage in relation to the FPR. Will I lose mileage simply doing an upgrade from the stock 2.5bar ro 3.0bar? I know I brought this up earlier, but your last comment has me wondering again.
I was under the impression that so long as I didn't -use- the extra fuel pressure available to me with the new FPR, that I would still be able to get my 31/32mpg on the highway. What are your opinions on it?
I guess I'm kinda caught between wanting to keep the best gas mileage possible, and getting performance when I need it (ie. passing on hills, etc.) Does the rising rate FPR take care of this or something? If so, I would definitely get one. They are expensive, though. Is there a cheaper one available for some other car, for instance, that will do the job as well? I would think that since they are adjustable, you could even use one for some completely different vehicle. (Just thinking with my wallet here) Thanks!
