The best thing is to open up the valve cover, jack one wheel up, put the car in 5th, rotate the jacked up wheel and examine the timing chain one complete revolution as it is being turned.
If you don't like to get your hands dirty, get a mechanic to do it for you and watch. It's not going to take more than 1 hour.
If you want to do it yourself, there are only maybe 15 to 20 torx screws to loosen and remove on the valve cover. The valve cover gaskets are very likely stuck to the head because of heat. Use a razor to go around the cover, both outside and inside, before removing the valve cover. My guess is you'll likely find the timing chain in near pristine condition (provided the car has been regularly maintained). Use a tube of those blue gasket sealers to gover the cover with a 3/16" bead, again both inside and outside, before you fit up.
You get the opportunity to examine conditions of the cams too while the cover is open. Best of all, you will have stopped a small oil leak from the front of the valve cover on the driver side if you have properly applied the blue gasket sealer, a very common problem for the 2.3L engine.
