I am looking at a pretty low price to start with: $12,500 [US] for a 96 5 speed with 100,000 miles. Someone recently had my Saab shop take a look at this car and found about $800 worth of repairs: the only significant repair being a lower control arm bushing. Fortunately the DI was replaced recently, and the 95k service was performed. The sun visors are drooping, something that seems rather strange with a car that's only 4 - 5 years old: my 900s visors lasted 9 - 10 years!
The purchase of this car will completely exhaust my current funds. I think that I am short tax and license money as it is. I'd go for a loan, but I don't think that I've got enough time as someone else (who paid for the above shop inspection) is interested in the car. Also, I just bought a 97 CSE last July. I'll also need money to have some repairs done on my 89 900TC before I sell it. I have to ask myself why I am looking at another car when I already have 3! (the 900 and a 90 Toyota Corolla would be replaced by the Aero, leaving us with a 97 CSE and a 96 Aero)
Anyway, sorry for rambling on. I am going to take one last look at my finances and run a quick VIN check on the car.
Hopefully soon to be Aero owner,
-mark
