Hi,

I am 17 years old, driving a grey 91 9000s. I've been pulled over three times in the past 3 weeks. All in my town. Actually doing 10mph over on the first one...the last two, I never sped. I dont know what it is...but everytime I pass a speed trap (Sometimes more than 5mph under the limit) the cop pulls out to follow me, run my plates, make me a nervous wreck, etc. The first time i got pulled over, the cop gave me a "gift" by giving me a failure to wear seatbelt ticket, when I was wearing my belt. Its generous to pay 42 bucks instead of 170 plus three year surcharges...and for a 17 year old in NJ, surcharges are a nightmare. The second ticket was also supposed to be a speeding ticket for "60 in a 35"..i was POSITIVE i was doing 45. Besides, I was in 3rd gear, do saabs go 60 in 3rd??! Anyway, he gave me a "loud muffler" ticket, also as a "gift", because of my Dynomax exhaust system, which is 50 state legal. Diesal trucks are louder than my saab. I am just being ripped off by my town's police just because i'm a young kid. I also happen to be a member of the town's First aid squad. That hasn't done anything for me. Officers have told me to my face when they pull me over that the fancy uniform laying on my back seat is not going to do "shit" for me. I dont know what to do. I cant fight any of these tickets. They just keep taking my money. Its hard enough to pay for neccessary repairs on my baby Saab. But paying ridiculous tickets is horrible. The past week, I have been driving consistently 5-10mph under all the limits...although this has cause other drivers to become irritated with me...I STILL have cops tail me on the roads...I just see this as harrasment. OK, enough venting...gotta go get a job to pay these tickets.
