major pothole incident--what should I have checked?

I hit a pothole in Boston on Saturday--ruined an almost new Gislaved NordFrost II. Now, with my summer tires back on, I'm doing a lot of steering correction, and the steering wheel doesn't want to come back on center as readily as it should. I know these cars are hard to knock out of alignment, but I may have managed. Is there anything else I should look for, damagewise? I poked around and everything semed nice and tight, but the handling isn't what it should be...
TIA
