...but it does require the gauges to measure exactly how much charge you're putting in. Not doing this can cause damage or possible explosion of system if too much is added. I did not do the vacuum of the system. It is suggested, especially if you've had compressor failure which could clog up the system with broken bits and such. I replaced the hoses, drier and expansion valve and added the ester oil to the a/c compressor as stated on Townsends site. I believe I added 6 oz of oil (in charge form) then the R-134A. I believe you're looking for 30 psi of R-134A with the car and a/c running.
