There is no need to replace anything but the boot if the tear was recent. You might even clean the joint out with engine degreaser to make sure there is no dirt inside. One suggestion, make sure you loosen the hub nut befor you jack up the car and take off the wheel. You will need a long pipe to loosen it as is is tightened to over 100 ft. lbs. and has locktight on it. When you pull out the shaft, you can also check the inner driver for wear and add grease to that. Wear can be felt inside the driver as worn spots where the roller bearings contact.
