My 87 900T AT is in the shop for paint and the shop gave me an 87 9000T AT to drive---enough of a difference (certainly on the mileage...at 216K it averages over 30mpg on the highway while my 900T gets maybe 22) to make me consider getting a newer used 9000 (except I can't fit the lawnmower into the 9000 nearly as easily as the 900). The 9000 seems a lot quieter, too.
Faster on top end....but tougher to work on, more to go wrong.....
Maybe it's just different strokes for different folks?
