So Jeff, what did you do to prevent any water from coming in after this? It was not a pleasant sound to hear the car creak and literally crack through the jack point ... Fiberglass, duct tape? I now know to jack it from the A-frame in the front. Now I just need to get a rear point, as I simply do not trust the 'wheel change' supports any more ...
It certainly scared me that the jack position could get rusted out like that. Imagine your wife with a helpful road warrior trying to do the right thing, but ending up sailing the jack through the floor!
Thanks Quasi! Guess it's best to use non-locking nuts on the install of the studs ...
Regards,
Marc
BTW Thanks to all of you! I have fixed my fuel gauge, O2 sensor, Turbo Backup Valve, EDU light and passenger mirror with your help. Not hard, but without the pointers I would have driven it to a indie! Runs like a charm now.. Just hope she keeps going at 224K!
