I would leave the turbo alone. When it fails, it doesn't leave you stranded, and you can get it fixed then. You are not going to save money by rebuilding it as preventative maintenance.
Some people have had luck rebuilding their own turbos, but I think you are better off having it rebuilt and balanced by professionals. The difference in cost is about $60 for the seal and bearings versus $250-$300 for a quality rebuild of your turbo with a 90 day guarantee.
