Just acquired Saab '92, 9K, 162K on it. Getting to know the car and have little knowledge on mechanic. Yesterday, my car was running okay until I cleaned the engine with this pressure steam. I'm quite sure I did not, by the pressure, cut off or disconnected some old wirings in the engine. I was very careful on hitting the delicate wiring and focus the pressure nossle to the engine surface only. After the cleaning, the car started shaky, no pickup, and knocks at acceleration. I thought maybe I wet some electrical parts and warmimg it a while would dry out the thing and it would normalise. I was wrong..I started to worry because after like half an hour of test running, I still had this acceleration (engine knocking/weakness). Seemed like it only had half power specially at 4 to 5k rpm. I cleaned the distributor cap (maybe the only 9K without DI)with no difference. I even called up the Saab electrician/mechanic, and he would check it tomorrow. But for some reason, when I was going for work ( I would be using another car) I started it and surprised that it worked as if nothing had happened. I'm using it now at work and will observe before calling off the appointment with the mechanic. Any clue of what could have happened? Please do help me figure out this puzzle.
