The intank sendor unit is the problem. It's best-Less Fustration to just replace it.If you love pain you can try to repair it.Remove it from the tank.On the bottom of the unit there is a small 3mm nut that you remove to pull the bottom plate and outside aluminum tube off. What you are left with is the top piece and float system.Check out the float fingers that ride on the very fine sendor resistor wire, which you will find if over 150k on car will be worn.Replace unit .If not,on the wires you will find a builtup layer of "crap" from the fuel.Best way is to spray Gumout Carb cleaner on wires and then with a q-tip cotton swab try to rub the layer off without breaking the wires, good luck. The low fuel lamp input is a set on contacts on the bottom of the float and the bottom of the unit where the float comes to rest, clean those also. Then slide unit into tube and place bottom piece and small nut on center bolt and hopefully a working unit again when placed in the tank..
