Try using some electrical contact cleaner on it. Radio Shack carries it. The OEM clamps on SAAB battery cables are copper. Don't use baking soda as you would on a lead clamp or for neutralizing the acid on the top of the battery (even those supposedly maintenance-free batteries get a layer of grease, dirt and acid on the tops, allowing a discharge between the posts). Baking soda reacts with the copper and will create a black barrier coating.
