There is a good deal on a mig welder from a professional shop and they told me that the welder would weld up to 3/16" thickness of steel. Is that enough to do most automotive work? I know it's plenty to repair body panels, but if I wanted to repair the area that commonly rusts underneath the 99 where the lower control arm bolts up on a 99? Or even to patch a hole in the floor of a 99?
