I bought one and compared it and I see two differences. First, the oil orifice that lets oil under pressure from the oil galley to the tensioner is much larger on the MG part. I would be worried about the effect on oil pressure. It may be possible to swap the orifice from one tensioner to the other to get the Saab orifice on the MG tensioner. The shoe is also a little different in shape, but I imagine it would pretty quickly wear to the correct shape. I have not installed nor run the part. Hope that helps!
