After doing a bit of research, it appears the only difference I could find was the intake manifold gasket on carbureted 99's was slightly different than the injected models. thesaabsite has a listing for an engine gasket set for 1972-1980 - ALL, though it is no longer available from them, it does say they are all the same.
I didn't have an intake manifold gasket when I assembled my engine in 2005, so I just used anaerobic sealer with the spray activator - been holding all this time, and I did make a few lengthy trips with it.
