Cool AC parts! Posted by Gary Stottler [Email] (#1463) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Gary Stottler) on Mon, 16 Jul 2012 18:45:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks to the forward thinking (years ago) in rescuing parts from the dumpster by Olle Pederson, I am now the proud owner of a nearly complete NOS complete AC kit for 76-80 99s. You may think I've "gone round the bend" to be so excited about having this much-maligned collection of hardware - maybe it's the heat this summer! The only thing missing is the condenser and the 2 sheet metal brackets that go on either side to mount it in front of the radiator. Pretty cool to have everything else new in the original box (even the instruction manual, owners manual, and loctite)!
So, if anybody has a condenser and brackets from your parts car or the car you ripped the AC out of in disgust, I'd love to have it - drop me a line!
I actually have the almost-complete kit, a second partial kit, and some addition miscellaneous parts, so if anybody does need AC parts, let me know. I hate to say it, but I'm (almost) thinking again about putting AC in the Turbo - but if I do that, I'm going to use Oren's 9000 compressor conversion instead of the York piston compressor. Olle even threw in an R134a conversion kit (originally for a C900, but looks like it would work for the 99 system).
Meanwhile, I'll be driving to SOC 2012 (Iowa in August) in my Air Conditioned 99 EMS - see you there! :-)
