Now that I may have fixed the slack in the timming chain, I'll put it on my project list. It was looking like a head job and timmimg chain replacement. I had thought that if I had to pull the engine to replace the timming chain I would just drop in a used H engine and 5 speed that I know are available locally. I figured I could do that for the same cost as the repair and gain an extra gear with not much more more work. Any way I have several projects ahead of the 99 at this time, and the car is for sale. See TSN add. I have been driving 99s since 1977 and this is the nicest one I have owned or driven. I had bought the car for my 16 year daughter who later felt she wanted an automatic for her first car. Just happened to come across a 79 900 EMS with an automatic and bought it for her.
