Having not done one,
I can only imagine how difficult a job it is to do right.
Both of my 99s needed waterpumps done.
Both were completed by experienced mechanic with complete rebuilt kits.
Neither pumps leaks during the life of the cars.

I believe that complete kits are still available in Europe,
but not specifically branded as 99 parts,
but are the same oem?!

If a complete kit is not locateable,
I believe everything said here is wise.
And the electric pump may be in order.

If you can locate a complete kit, I think that is the best option.
I wonder what is included in the SAS (sasab.com) $145 kit?
I'll check with my mechanic this week
to see where he located the kit last year.
