You mount the gauge on the centre hose of the fuel distributor that goes to the Warm Up Regulator. Air forming inside the hoses is well known and Saab tried to solve it with an electric solenoid on the return line from the W U R to the distribotur, and later with adding a pulse relay that activates the cold start valve when the starter motor has to work long.
The gauge should read 3.4 to 3.8 Bar when the engine is warm, and should drop to around 2 Bar when you stop it. 20 minutes later, pressure must be present at the gauge in order to help starting a warm engine. VW for instance, added a thermo contact that is mounted in the air near the W U R in engines equipped witht the same system. It is connected to the radiator fan relay and operates it only with the engine stopped in order to cool the engine bay.
