A buddy does marine mechanics and rebuilds engines all the time. He grought over his testing unit. He also did a thumb over test , where he replaced the gauge with his thumb, and said #2 was just not there. He thinks the bottom end is tired, but he doesn't have direct Saab experience, like Andy/Doug and the rest of you.
So it could be as Andy says and the top end is kaput.
Or the bottom end is weak/shot.
In order to get to the bottom, off comes the top. So we'll see.... eventually.
