Yes, I am running a stock '75 block and stock head in the '73 with d-jet. Prior to that I had a '79 900 block with unknown head and cam in it, and I ran that in my 74EMS for at least a dozen years(well, 6 years of that the car was on blocks in the garage, but the engine would still run). The '79 block at one time had the header on it while it was in the 74, and it once layed down a 50 foot patch of scratch on asphalt, I kid you not. Another incident I backed out of a buddy's lot onto a four lane street, into the center lane, then punched it. The torque steer took me to the curb, nearly hitting a telephone pole.....d-jet!
The 75EMS I sold for a number of reasons, but lack of spirit when driving it was one of them. It just didn't have the pep as the '73....and I had a MSS built 8000 rpm motor in it, double valve springs in the head, MSS header, front and rear sway bars, and koni high pressure shocks. It also had the larger flow plate in the injection distributor.
I can't comment on megasquirt, since I know nothing about it.
I did acquire a carbureted intake manifold a few years back just in case d-jet parts became unobtanium, but this system has been running good for me for the past 17 years < since most parts I ran on the '74EMS which I bought in the late 80's.
