Well, you shouldn't be allowed to get it out of reverse if the key will not turn in the cylinder. If you squirted WD40 in the cylinder, and the key will still not turn, then maybe it's time to replace the cylinder. C-900 lock cylinders may be the same, Try Nick At Taliaferro Saab(site sponsor), he may be able to give you more info on inter-changeability.
The best thing you can do is tear the shifter assembly out and remove the reverse gear lock-out lever. That way you can get the key out in any gear. You may have to remove the assembly anyways if you have to replace the lock cylinder.
