Your 'fuel injection' I'm assuming is CIS. CIS is great and reliable as long as the system isn't messed with and doesn't get gummed up. However , as its mechanical components get older and wear, things get more and more out of whack and it is a bear of a system to muck with. Carbs really do simplify a lot in the engine bay and there is definitely a performance gain to be had. Along with the glorious sound they make. The DCOE webers can still be purchased new and used ones are fairly common so all the parts are out there if you need them. They are almost infinitely tunable for fuel econ or power, but would require adjustment and tuning than CIS 'set it and forget it'. If you can get your hands on a manifold from MSS or others, I think it is a great upgrade for a classic car.
