Can you do it in 9 days? Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Wed, 12 Dec 2007 22:04:52 In Reply to: How to install '80 900T engine w/ 5spd in 99?!?, Alpina99, Tue, 11 Dec 2007 16:37:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Of course you can do it in 9 days. if you have the front cover then you have eliminated a good part of the worry work. If you really have a fuel tank, etc. accessible then it shouldn't be a big deal. Before you start, though, you will want to examine your car to see if you have the access holes for the fuel pump, and the appropriate spots for the fuel lines. You could easily spend a day swapping IN fuel goodies. Don't forget that you will need the wiring harness and computer for the FI setup as well. If you have a donor car just sitting around, then you shouldn't have a problem, but your best option (and probably not a whole lot more expensive) would be to just put the 5 speed in your car and look forward to getting dual carbs sometime soon. You may get lucky and find a manifold for cheap or maybe John has something laying around...he seems to be ridding himself of B motor goods. You will be constantly busy for the whole 9 days.
Good luck.
