So I'm driving home on the freeway tonight and my '79 starts surging at idle as I get caught in stopped traffic. Off idle it was fine, but as soon as I let off it drops almost to stall, catches, then drops again. I got home and opened up the idle air bypass screw about a turn, and now it idles along just fine at about 900 RPM. Could this be a winter gas type thing, or is something really bad about to happen?
