The original 1978 99 Turbo air dams (and the 1977 and 1978 99 EMS air dams) were "plastic" (I don't recall exactly what kind of plastic) with a shiny finish, not fiberglass. They were a little flexible (maybe now 30 years later not as flexible?). I did see back in the early '80s some fairly rude plastic aftermarket units with a grain finish. At this point, however, take what you can get. I do think that the original ones can be redone by a restoration shop - give me a call on (585) 202-8538 and I will wander out to the barn and look at the receipt I got with the extra glue and plastic I got for fixing a cracked 99 Turbo air dam!
