Agree with Gregg, the 99 is a tough act to follow for a fun, reliable daily driver - if you get a good one. I've been driving 99s since '84, though not the same one unfortunately; including a few turbos. They really are best driven rather than left standing in the driveway. If they're used then stuff wears out yes, but slowly usually and - again if it's a good car to start with - predictably. Sensible maintenance and not letting little faults get out of hand will pay dividends in reliability in the long run. The best 99 I've had I got in '92 with 42,000 regular weekly miles on it and I hadn't intended using it too much as it was so nice but with the 99 turbo keeping needing fixed it got used a lot, then a lot more. It ended up as a daily driver and a long distance trip car too on summer driving holidays from England to the south of Spain. Only breakdowns have been a flat battery and a fried wire to the fusebox because I didn't replace the radiator thermo switch and the rad fan was running too often and the circuit got hot - my fault and I still feel terrible for letting down a car that hadn't let me down seriously.
