Yes, I've done this myself and you'll have to make or fake a crank arm to fit on the throttle shaft spindle and join up to the existing linkage. If your car was equipped originally with a FoMoCo carb, at least the linkage turns the right way; if the original carb was a Solex you'll need to reverse the direction.
Mine came with a 165 main jet, but I have an MSS exhaust on my car so eventually I had to go to a 180 to cure 'lean surge' at highway speeds.
Another thing to watch with these is the fuel inlet pipe (which can be in one of three positions depending on which depression in the casting was drilled out for it) -- it's just pressed into place and some of them can pull out, which would spray fuel all over. I just used epoxy to set mine in place, but if you're really the safety type you might want to look into something more heavy-duty.
