Thanks for all the advice everyone!!!
So when installing the 900T B-type engine and 5-spd transmission in my '75 99 it basically it comes down to:
- Front chain cover from '80 or newer 99/90,
- Waterpump cover and altenator bracket from original engine,
- Fuel tank with build-in fuelpump from 99 GLi, EMS or Turbo.
I was wondering about some other stuff:
1. The fact that the crankshaft pulley might be too "big" to fit the 99: Does this also apply to the B-type engine? I thought this was only a problem when fitting a H-type engine and then only at the top part of the firewall, not at the crankshaft pulley. If this is a problem, can I use the pulley from the original engine? My thought was to use the B-type engine because I would avoid having to do major constructional changes...like altering the firewall.
2. Can I use the original driveshafts? Do they fit and can they handle the extra power and torque from the turbo engine?
3. Can I also use a 900 fuel tank? My 99 is a combi coupe (2 door + hatch) and has basically the same rear as the 900 combi coupe.
Sorry for all the (stupid?) questions, but this is my first time doing this, I want to be sure that I can really do it :-)
Thanks!!!
