Yes the timing gear dots.. I checked so much before installation. Thanks for the encouragement. I had set the valves according to Ashcraft instructions. I maybe thought it might be the intake manifold gasket, but I'm sure I did the best job. I'm one of those perfectionist.
What was baffling is how the condenser went bad for it was working before the rebuilt. I checked the spark two hours ago and it is steady, yet yellow. Not a healthy blue spark. I did turn the distributor and found the best position for it, but the high rpm cannot be reduce! an someone tell me how to set the mixture with the Weber ich carb? I tweaked the damn screw/ and throttle screw so much that I dont know where I am now.
Thanks again for all the advice. I ant wait to lick the problem and report back
