Our local community college has a body-shop-painting class they offer and will do local vehicles for the students to practice on. Plus side is that you *DO* get a very professional job because the instructors hover over the kids until they get it right (including light body-prep). The price is $1500 to paint entire exterior. Minus side is that you have to be willing to leave the car with them for 4 to 6 months! And that it's exterior only -- no door-jambs, engine compartment, etc., exterior only. You do get some shaker-cans of matching paint for touch-up. You might want to check what your local college/university offers... Our CC "...likes the idea of getting 'unusual' vehicles as it gives the kids 'different' angles, etc. to work with..."
