I've also had a pertronix failure that seemed premature in one of our Minis. I've used the Allison/Crane breakerless iginition kit in a bunch of cars including 99 & V-4 and found them to be very reliable. One has been in our 60 Mini for 11 years. And one in my 99 EMS went well over 100K. Of course point are pretty darn reliable too. Make sure there is a good spot of grease or lube on the back edge of the rub block when you install new points. It makes a huge difference in how long they last.
Cheers,
Ken
